WHERE WE'RE FROM

MEHRAN

From: Iran
Speaks: Farsi and English
Life verse: "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Romans 10:13-15

JANET

From: France, England, and Iceland
Speaks: French, English, Icelandic, and Greek

1 Corinthians 15:58

OUR TESTIMONIES

MEHRAN

I am from Iran, where I grew up as a Muslim. I was tired of the oppression of Islam and of the Iranian government and so, as a 24 year old, decided to leave my family and home country. I made my way to Greece where I became a Christian just two months after I arrived, while I was living in a refugee camp up by Macedonia. A mission team gave me a Bible, which I reluctantly accepted, but started reading due to having so much time on my hands. Through reading the Word of God, I came to see it as the Truth and gave my heart to Jesus.

JANET

I grew up in Iceland but have a French mother and English father. My parents were New Agers and so I grew up within that context. From a young age I would meditate, use crystals to heal myself, and tarot cards for spiritual guidance. When I was 15 a friend invited me to an IFES youth group meeting where I started attending on a regular basis. Within a year I had given my heart to the Lord. Soon thereafter I received my calling to be a missionary and felt the Lord leading me to go work in Greece where I spent 14 years working with Hellenic Ministries
